DIOPTER: Identifies
refractive (light bending) lens capacity. Focal
length and diopter are co-realated. To find your lens diopter: With eyes 10” above lens, move viewed
object to point with the most distance below the lens,
but still in sharp focus. Now measure distance
and divide into 1 meter (39.37”) for your
lens diopter.
FIELD OF VIEW:
The distance across lens surface by both eyes at 10” above
lens. Magnifying increase (stronger
lens) = viewing area and focal length decrease. |

Degree to which viewed object is enlarged. Magnification
is expressed by a number followed by the symbol “x” to
express power or size of object in relationship to its
actual size.
